Diagnostics
The introduction of more electronics in the vehicle increases the need for diagnostics of its functions and components. However, the architectural structure itself, being based on a multiplex bus, makes it easier to retrieve diagnostic data from the different systems in the vehicle. Vehicle diagnostics can be divided into three areas: embedded systems internal diagnostics, retrieval of diagnostics data from embedded systems, and the act of actually diagnosing a failure situation.
Mecel is an experienced supplier of vehicle diagnostic communication solutions. For more than a decade we have specified diagnostic systems and implemented diagnostic software modules for leading vehicle manufacturers. Today this activity includes a number of software products such as diagnostic kernels and bootloaders.
Mecel developed and demonstrated a web-based remote diagnostics platform in 1999 and continuously gains experience in this area.
