Gateway
Gateways are used in automotive networks primarily for translation between different network protocols, but can also be used to handle authentication and firewall issues in workshop diagnostics or telematics gateway applications.
Mecel delivers traditional signal or frame-gating software components for CAN/LIN/MOST-networks, as well as more complex diagnostic gateway solutions. Our knowledge in this area will allow us to easily incorporate Flexray and other new communication standards into future designs. We can also develop customer specific gateway applications and verify the complete implementation using our automated test environment.
Another type of gateway targets the growing need for interfacing between the in-vehicle systems and portable devices. These gateways will evolve from simple hands-free interfaces towards containing sophisticated routing software for in-vehicle media streaming. Mecel already provides complete solutions for such infotainment gateways.
