HMI Concepts
In today's vehicles the user interface represents a great deal of the customers perceived value. In many projects we have seen that the OEM's are not happy with what they see during the development phase and it is either too late or too expensive to resolve the issue before start of production.
Mecel can offer a solution with an HMI Engine concept; a solution which provides a configurable user interface. The HMI Engine provides a way to abstract the HMI development by creating general rules and methods. The HMI that is presented to the user can be configured to provide a completely different look and feel by changing the configuration.
The concept allows for change of colors, fonts, texts; change of layout of objects within a view; Addition or removal of static objects such as lines, polygons, bitmaps and static text; Adding or changing static menus and menus' hierarchy. This can e.g. be used to enable the same software and electrical hardware for different vehicle brands while it to the users appears as two completely different systems.
This can be achieved at the same time as quality and time to market is improved.
