How we work
Stable processes and flexible organization combined with thorough experience is a vital part of how we deliver top quality solutions.
Distributed system co-design
In the automotive industry there is an increasing need to integrate electronic and electrical systems from different suppliers. The traditional "black-box" approach no longer provides the sufficient functionality or quality. As the automotive systems becomes more and more complex, the need for intelligent handling of the complete vehicle system is increasing.
Functional safety
Many new applications and systems within the automotive industry involve safety, directly or indirectly. The design of safety relevant applications, however, requires more than just a smart design compared to traditional systems. The design of safety related applications needs a methodology which can produce "a documented body of evidence that provides a convincing and valid argument that a system is adequately safe for a given application in a given environment" [Adelard].
Model Based Engineering
At Mecel we are continuously looking at increasing our effectivity by using state of the art tools and methodologies. Recent surveys have identified that about 50% of the errors found during testing and verification efforts can be related to poor or misinterpreted specifications.
Agile Software Development
Mecel is working with Agile software development methods to minimize the development effort needed and utilize the skills of the individuals. SPICE (Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination) is used to manage processes to meet our customer’s delivery expectations and overall quality.
Automotive Grade Software
Automotive and Commercial Vehicle software has evolved since the late 80's when software first came into focus in this market. In the beginning each ECU had a specialized solutions. Today ECUs with standardized interfaces and code-generation support are becoming more an more common. The standardized solutions improve the quality and the speed of application development.
