Bluetooth
Mecel has been a member of the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) since May 1998. The great success of Bluetooth can be attributed to the enormous effort put into the standardisation work by all SIG members, and to the Un-Plug Fests (UPF) concept where potential interoperability problems between different implementations of the standard are detected and dealt with before products are released to the open market.
Mecel has participated at UPF since the very beginning. We are also active members of the Car Working Group, and the Audio/Video Working Group within SIG, in order to give our input to the standardization and to stay in the forefront of the Bluetooth evolution by always having first hand information.
We firmly believe that the importance of the Bluetooth standard will continue to grow and further establish Bluetooth as the dominating technology for all types of short-range communication. In particular, the combination of the Bluetooth protocol and profile framework with the ultra-wideband (UWB) technology as bearer, will provide a powerful platform for new compelling applications such as image sharing and video streaming.
