Wireless communication plays an increasingly important role in the automotive environment. We develop communication solutions for traditional voice and data services that use widely available GSM/GPRS networks, and we are well prepared to support customers wanting to develop new related services like remote diagnostics and eCall.
We also specialize in short-range technologies such as Bluetooth, WLAN and NFC (Near Field Communication) to address the growing need for communication between vehicles, from vehicle to roadside, and, most important, for interfacing portable devices.
Mecel is a world-leading developer of Bluetooth software and associated applications. Based on our Bluetooth SDK, we can deliver everything from small embedded solutions for headsets to complete multi-profile applications for data communication and audio/video streaming. We predict that our deep knowledge in this area will be even more appreciated by our customers in the near future, since significant enhancements in performance will enable Bluetooth devices to communicate at data-rates beyond 400 Mbit/s, hence making the technology suitable for many new applications.
