Kvaser and Mecel join forces to serve the automotive market

Kvaser's announced the partnership in their press release, earlier this week:

Gothenburg, Sweden - Kvaser AB has formed a strategic cooperation agreement with Mecel AB, a specialist supplier of software and engineering services for in-vehicle communications. Kvaser will supply CAN hardware interfaces to Mecel’s automotive customers, providing them with a unique combination of software, hardware and services suited to in-vehicle communications applications.

Mecel, a subsidiary of Delphi, has already begun migrating its automotive and commercial vehicle software to Kvaser hardware. The first Mecel software product to be adapted to function with Kvaser’s CAN to PC interfaces and dataloggers is the Mecel Automotive Test Environment (MATE) – a generic test framework that can be used as a platform to test software in an electronic control unit (ECU). The next step will be to migrate Mecel’s AUTOSAR products to Kvaser hardware. These include the popular Mecel Picea suite for the development of AUTOSAR compliant ECUs.
