CAN based communication network
Great Wall Motors wanted to introduce the first CAN based communication network in the company’s new vehicle platform. The E/E-team at Great Wall had limited experience in working with distributed systems, and they faced a very tight time schedule.

By applying Mecels already existing and proven methodology and templates for developing a CAN network, Mecel helped Great Wall Motors to create the necessary specifications for communication and diagnostics in a very short time.

Continued co-operation
With this in place, Great Wall could source the ECU’s needed from their suppliers of choice.  When ECU’s started to come in from the different suppliers, Mecel helped Great Wall to verify that they fulfilled given requirements, and that the overall system behavior was correct.

Because of Mecels solid experience, we were able to explain and motivate all the specified requirements of the complex communication and diagnostics platform to all parties involved in a way that left no room for misunderstandings.

Saved time and money
The implementations coming in from all other suppliers worked together as a system almost immediately,  saving lots of time and effort for Great Wall, hence allowing them to stick to their aggressive schedule.

Mecel also introduced a working method for the development of distributed systems and have helped to increase and strengthen the network communication knowledge and skills of the customer’s engineers.
